Christmastrip to Diu

Early sunset morning on bus on the way to Diu. It's Claudia to the left.

We're in a richa on our way to St Thomas church. Christmas eve.

Yes, Diu is a Christian Island! And yes I finally got some christmas feeling cause the town of Diu was decorated with such. This is St Tomas church, Diu Town. Restaurated church from the money of the popular (among backpackers) hostel inside.

My shoes on the church roof with a view of Diu town.

Close to the church, a park. Jennifer is photographing her sister Vanessa.

Beautiful illustrative sculptures with men from the bible were everywhere inside the church. Haven't seen them as sculptures before. They all looked very old.

Fishing boats are being repaired in harmony with beach cows.

Paris-Matilde and Paris-Fabian at a backpacker breakfast place, Garden restaurant.

Another church that I found beautiful.

Matilde is dancing at the barbeque party we went for by the church.

Sunshine resort where we stayed at the Sunset Point. Great location by the sea but worst rooms ever!

Why is it so hard to find swimming clothes in India? Here's the .. they don't use swimming clothes as we know it. They swim with clothes! This is at Nagoa Beach in Diu.

Me and my friend found a quit beautiful beach on the north side. I am as happy as I look.

Fabian and Matilde at the same beach.

Truck design.

Hairdesign. Who said it's hard to start a business?

Strange.

At the post office. Something for the boring Swedish post offices definitly!

Goodbye dear Diu. We''re on our way to our nightbus. The cow is a bit dark, but I hope you see it ;-)

Bhavnagar and Palitana

Jenn, Jenn's sister Vanessa, me and Claudia went travelling for a few days of christmas holiday.

On the way to the dissapointment Along. We got our permission too late and never got into the ship breaking yard in Alang.

Road restaurant.

Toilets at the road. Ladies right side.

Woman on a bus.

Workers in Alang - at a shop selling stuff from the breaked ships.

Temple in Bhavnagar.

The school girl to the right and her friend met us at the Gandhi museum shop and decided to take us to the temple. And nope, this is not some kind of advertisement. This is a travelling big Gandhi on wheels which stopped in Bhavnagar for a few days. The people try to touch a part of his plastic body or kiss.

Outside the temple.

The two school girls took us to their girl school hostel. Their teachers where _very_ excited about me and Claudia. I've never felt so much of a sensation yet in India - and yet I've felt as a sensation so many times.

The day before Christmas in Bhavnagar. Great to see some Christmas decorations finally!

On our way to the famous jain temple of Palitana! 3000 stairs. I didn't know that there could be stairs all the way up on a mountain. For me mountain climbing is _not_ about walking stairs.

It's possible not to walk yourself. Carriers brings you to the top for around 100 rupees which is 17 Swedish crowns. When we reached the top as the only western tourists people where amused by the fact that we as (comfortable and luxury) westerns had managed to climb all the stairs without being carried.

Jennifer on the way.

Those white dressed women had dedicated their lifes to the jain temples of Palitana and therefore, since it on the day was full moon, they had to go up & down 19 times in 24 hours.

On the top.

On the way down again.

?, Matilde, Elsa, Sagarika, Tia

Matilde-Paris is preparing her hair.

At the basketball plan there were music and everybody was dancing. Great feeling in the air.

Matilde, Claudia and Sagarika.

Maria and Peter (?).

This is a rare thing in Ahmedabad, Gujarat since alcohol is not allowed. No clubs or bars in the whole state. Only at NID!

Paris-Elsa and Paris-Matilde.

Diploma dinner

December is the time when many design students finish their studies at NID. This is the diploma dinner just before start.

The diploma dinner is going on. In the backround the dishes are taking care of.

Katta and Maria through mosquito net.

I and Jenn managed to get into the boys hostel (not allowed, guards watching!). But then our friends Mattia and Dorean weren't at home. We waited in the corridor.

'
We met the neighbor of Mattia and Dorean, some of my industrial design classmates - we talked for a while and then kept on waiting at their room. Later Tia and Dorean came too. The room is not bigger then you can see on the photo.
